
Salma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jimmyenez, 2 September 1966)[3][4][5[3][4][5), is an American and Mexican actress. In Mexico she started her career with the role of Teresa in the television series (1989-1991), as well as El Callejon de los Milagros (1995), where she was nominated for an Ariel Award. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were but some of her many Hollywood credits. Hayek's portrayal of painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) and the film she also wrote was the first Mexican actress to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress[6Additionally, she was awarded the Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek played the lead in the action-packed Once Upon a Time in Mexico films in the subsequent years , and shifted her focus to producing.
